Kmail and HTML messages - how?

I'm wondering how to get HTML messages to show in the view pane for Kmail. The funny thing is that if I run Kmail as root, HTML messages render correctly. If I log in under my user account, I get only the HTML code. All the Kmail settings between these two instances of Kmail are identical. Do I have a permissions problem somewhere?

Why can't I preview the HTML messages under my user account?

The option for the current folder is in menu Folder and the general option is in the configuration dialog under Security.

Yes, but...

Thanks for the tip, but I CAN get HTML messages to work as root. I have the proper HTML settings enabled. As ROOT it works... as USER it doesn't.

Hmm.

Move away the users kmailrc config file and start KMail.
It will create a new file.
Check if the option works, if it does the old file might be corruptet somehow.
