Any ideas??

I'm getting the exact same message... It's been driving me crazy... haven't been able to find a solution for it...

Ohh... And I'm using 3.2rc1 as well

Well, its fixed....problem is I cant explain the solution specifically.
After adding several libraries/devel-packages I rebuilt kdelibs and after that it worked.
But it was a late night, and I cant really say what I added that did the trick :(

Well, solved for me anyway...

Did you install ssl into the proper location when you installed KDE 3.2rc? If you didnt or if KDE didnt have the ssl libraries in the proper spot then it wouldnt not recognize any program as being able to handle https, and thus, it would reply with it not being a registered protocol. I imagine by installing the devel packages and the libraries you probably now have ssl and that is why it works.
