Kwallet and Konqueror integration

I am using 3.2-BETA2 compiled with konstruct on FreeBSD 5.2-CURRENT. I can see kwallet is storing some information from konqueror in the maps section of my wallet, but konqueror does not appear to be retrieving information. And, as I was writing this message konqueror crashed and I had to log back in to the site, konqueror did not retrieve the information on its own. Is there something I am missing? I have looked all over kde.org and general web searches, but I can't find any documentation about how this is supposed to work from the end-user's perspective.

I'm using KDE3.2beta2 too but my installation seams to have a better behaviour than yours. Konqueror uses kwallet and fills the form automaticly for me. However this didn't happened until I restarted konqueror or (don't remember) visited the page for a second time.

Try on a form, logout or close konq and then retry to see if it works (you need to have the use of kwallet enabled)

Kopete uses it fine though and the idea is nice if you remove every security options like closing wallets automaticly.

Interesting. In the Wallet Manager I can see that Konq is adding things. However, the size of the wallet file on disk is not changing. I wonder if I have a permission problem somewhere? I installed as my user, and I have had to chown some things to root (such as kcheckpass) in order for them to function correctly.

I think you only need user previledges. KWallet keeps things at $KDE_HOME/share/apps/kwallet and $KDE_HOME/share/config.

Try kopete to see if it uses kwallet correctly (is the only other programs I know that uses kwallet). With this you can try to guess if the problems is Kwallet or "just" konq

kopete was working fine from the beginning. What I am now seeing is this: When I enter information (such as a user name and password) into a webpage, the Wallet Manager shows it, however, this information is not committed to disk and made available to Konq for future use until the Wallet is closed. Setting it to close periodically (every few minutes and when the screensaver activates) makes it usable if a little annoying.
