Kmail wrong Timestamps

Kmail keeps reporting completely wrong (8+ hours) in the future, both for mail I recieve and mail that I send. I checked my local timezone settings, and it is set right (Eastern Standard for those in the US). Anyone else run into a similar problem?

Thanks in advance
Tony

More Info

I wrote that last one late at night and I just realized I didn't include any relevant info.

I'm running Dual Booting Windows XP and Knoppix 3.3 installed on my harddrive.
KDE is 3.1.3
Kernel is 2.4.20

Perhaps Linux is configured to believe the real time clock is running GMT and Windows sets it to local time.

I don't know how Knoppix handles this.
Debian ask at installation time, if the real time clock is runnint local time or GMT
Not sure which package this configuration belongs to.
timezoneconf might be the one.

I thought of that too, but there is not 8 hours of difference between EST and UTC, isn't it? (West Coast perhaps, but not east coast.)

(That is why I did not reply to this post. Sorry!)

 However I am just thinking that perhaps a wrong local timezone is set (East from Greenwich). Is KDE's clock right or not? When you type date in a console what do you get?

Have a nice day!

It just started working...

My time showed by the kde clock has been right the entire time. All of a sudden all of the timestamps just started working properly again.

Knoppix is based on the debian distro.

Thanks for the replies.
