kspread can't find a maindoc.xml file

What happened was I was editing a spreadsheet opened from a
fileserver.

As I was saving the file, I hadn't noticed the file server had shut
down, probably due to a loose power cable.

Now the proper file can't be reopened due to above error.

Any way to remedy this and collect the file?

Perhaps you still have the autosaved backup copy of the file around.
Should be named filename~

If this doesn't help you can extract the file.
A KSpread file is actually tar.gz (.zip in next KSpread), which then contains th maindoc.xml and embedded subfiles.

KSpread should be able to open the maindoc.xml if given on commandline

But if you have bad luck the maindoc.xml is corrputed.

Thanks, I'll try it. The autosave was corrupted as well.

Just for the records: KOffice 1.2 already uses zipped files. Tar.gz is only up to KOffice 1.1.

Have a nice day!
