OPEN OFFICE / SPREADSHEET

Re. OPEN OFFICE

Notice a possible programming error over the last month or two when using the Open Office spreadsheet.

- Can't get the system to copy the updated spreadsheets to a floppy diskette. It will copy the updated spread sheet to MS section of the hard drive and inspection shows that the updated version is there; I'm a firm advocate of backing up data of interest. The only workaround is to copy the file and "paste" it to the floppy - after leaving the KDE program.

Not a major problem I admit but it'd be nice not to have to leave the spreadsheet just to save it.

Any ideas? Tips? Suggestions?

Hi,
well OpenOffice is not a KDE program, and I don't use it because I don't write much letters 8)
I don't know if you are a experienced user, so don't think I want to blame you.
Just one question: Have you mouted the disk correctly? And before you release the floppy make sure you unmount it. Linux buffers data and doesn't write it on the floppy immediately. You can force Linux to write it if you unmount the floppy. Otherwise the spreadsheet is still in the memory buffer.
