MediaControl applet and XMMS

I added the "MediaControl" applet to my kicker panel. It lets you choose from a list of audio players; namely, XMMS, Noatun, AmaroK and JuK. However, if I choose XMMS, hitting the start button won't do anything. Others players are invoked fine. What can be wrong?

My xmms executable is in /usr/bin. The other audio apps are in /home/dtoyama/kde3.3.2/bin. Could that be the issue? I created a symlink to xmms in /home/dtoyama/kde3.3.2, but that did not fix the problem.

TIA,
Dai

I have the same problem too but I have just noticed that if you start XMMS before you can control it using MediaControl.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It's at least a workaround. :)

Congrats, you found a bug in MediaControl :)
I just fixed it in CVS HEAD, KDE_3_4_BRANCH and KDE_3_3_BRANCH. The fix will probably show up in KDE 3.4.1.

In case you compiled KDE yourself I have also attached the patch to this post.
