Problem with Soundcard

I'm using KDE 3.1 in RH9, and when detecting the sound card everything is fine, I can play mp3 (with a plugin) in XMMS listen to audio in movies and play wav in Noatun, but the KDE sound events won't play. Everything works fine in Gnome.
Help?
