Dropouts with Arts Programs - Juk and Noatun

I've got a motherboard with integrated sound (AC97 codec). When I run XMMS I get absolutely no dropouts or skips no matter what I'm doing. However, when using Juk, I get dropouts seemingly randomly a couple times a minute. I'm got realtime priority set in KControl and I'm logged in as root, so I know I have permissions. I've heard something about setting +s on artswrapper, how do I do that? What else can I do to fix this? I'd love to use Juk because I love the functionality, but I can't stand the dropouts. Thanks in advance for your help.
