New User

Hello! I am a new user of Mandrake 9.1. I cannot figure out how to run .mpg files! Is there something I need to get, or already part of my distribution...? It would be a shame to waste 20 gigs of music videos!

Hi, to view a file.mpg you need a mpeg player, there are may you can choose from, i.e. mplayer, gplayer, mpg123, there will be even mpg player in the kdemultimedia section.

re. Media Player Installation

hopefully i don't cause sighs throughout the room, but i need to learn this command line stuff, faster! lol windows is too easy- i feel like i've been pampered! i appreciate any suggestions for any, 'new user quick start' learning, for linux command line use.
