Turn _OFF_ anti aliasing

Googling for anti-aliasing is no fun, since you only find how to turn it on. However, since I apt-get upgraded my debian unstable distribution of KDE from 3.2 to 3.3.0-2 I have anti-aliasing everywhere. I must get rid of it, because using X over net is quite painful with it. (especially in a shell)

What I've tried so far:
o kcontrol=> fonts (turn on; restart; turn off; restart => nothing)
o ~/.fonts.conf => inserted
"<edit mode="assign" name="antialias" >
<bool>false</bool>
</edit>"
=> nothing
o messing with ~.XftConfig => nothing.
o making sure ~/.kde/..../kdeglobals has Anti Alias turned off => nothing.
o Changing some fonts in the konsole => nothing.

Why I still believe, it's kde specific?
o Wmaker works fine
o xterm (on kde) work fine as well.

o.k. it might be kde-apps-specific, but that's why I'm asking in this forum.

Any help appreciated.

Marcus.
