help KDE Desktop

I am a new linux user. I installed Mandrake 10 everything was working fine. I was looking at the different desktop programs and some how i ended up with just a prompt. How do i get KDE to start up and use it as a GUI.

Try issue startx to begin with. Thats the default GUI.

Well inside you can select what default GUI to use.
You may also have icewm installed or windowmaker already.

works in Failsafe boot as Telinit 3

You probably didn't add wm/de choose to your default boot scripts... I'm not sure how to add your desktop choose to mandrake boot scripts but you will need to do that.
-- rm -fr /etc/whitehouse
