mouse pointer

After installing fedora via FTP....everything worked fine EXCEPT....When i log into a kde session the mouse pointer misbehaves when
your try to resize the window and, over links in konqueror/firefox (which makes both useless)

<here's a quick description>
A block appears with tiny,tiny char.'s or dotted lines


I thought it might be kde 3.1 so i upgraded to 3.2 and nothing changed.

I'm sure it's kde specific because it works fine in a Gnome session

Changing the pointer theme results in NO JOY

Any help?
