Nowhere else to turn.

I've done 4 installs of mandrake 7.2 powerpack in my life, the first two were over 3 years ago and were beautiful. So i decided since mandrake 10 didnt work out well id dig it out and give it a shot, both times i installed it when id get to kde's login the font would be like 20X bigger than its supposed to be, and the same with the desktop icon's text and various other spots throughout the gui. I figured it was just set really high, but when i finally was able to move the box over far enough to read the point size, to my surprise it was 20pt, each letter takes up about 1/4th of my screen height, yet its 20pt, so i set it to 4pt and logged out, only to see that its about equivelent to a 48pt fontsize. Id love a solution to this, i dont want to install again.
