how to remove some components ???...

first of all, sorry about my english.

i've been using debian for quite some time. my desktop is of course KDE and only KDE, but now i face a problem: I'm running out of disk space.

there are some aplications in KDE that doesn't interest me, so i want to remove them, so i can get more space in my disk. but I don't know how I will do that.

the packages that i want to remove are for example: Kstars, Kalzium, etc.

when i do something like apt-get remove kstars, the comand replies that he is about to uninstall KDE. I don't want this. i just want to remove these packages, HOW do I do that ???

thks for all the help you can spare

You have installed some meta packages which depend on the actual program packages.
So if you remove such a program package, it will remove the meta package.

The other programs should stay installed.

Check with apt-get -s -u remove

That will list all single packages that get removed.
