KDE and Linux Newbie needs help upgrading!

Hi, I am a Linux and KDE newbie using RedHat 9.0. I tried to upgrade my KDE 3.0 to 3.2.1, although I had a lot of dependency errors when trying to use the RPMS. I tried fixing them, but couldn't get them to go away. Finally I found Konstruct and used it to build KDE 3.2.1. My problem now is how do I get this new version to be my default instead of KDE 3.0 as it currently is? Also, Is it possible to move the kde3.2.1 folder out of my home directory into, perhaps, /usr/share/ or will this cause errors? Finally if in the future I upgrade KDE again to a new release will I have to use Konstruct again, or because it installed all the KDE dependencies can I use the RPMS without running into dependency issues?

Thanks,
