Problem in arts

I have installed without problems glib-2.0.0, and the configure script of arts says this:

checking for GLib-2.0 (at least 1.3.3)... not installed
configure: error:
Please install glib-2.0 (see http://www.gtk.org).

I was install it in /usr/local/Depen/glib-2.0.0. And I use symblinks to /usr/local/bin, /usr/bin, /usr/local/lib, etc.

Arts says ever: not found :?:

I am using Debian, Gcc 3.3.1 and source code for all. And the config.log file not says more than the configure script.

Is the glib installed from the sources or througt debian packages system(apt-get?)? If it is installed as package you might need dev package installed also.
And just out of curiosity, why are you installing glib to /usr/local/Depen/glib-2.0.0? Is that some debian specific thing?

I was write the answer to this question:
>I am using Debian, Gcc 3.3.1 and source code for all.

I use source code for all in my computer. I can not use packages for some reasons more complicated to write in english. Write in English language is very difficult for me  read in english is, in average, easy.

I divide all programs in thwo categories:

/usr/local/Apps -> for apps and apps without dependences
/usr/local/Depen -> for dependences of apps.

I use this for one simple reason: order

Sorry for my poor english

Hi,
Could you post what sym links you got in /usr/local/Depen/glib-2.0.0.

The symlinks

/usr/local/Depen/glib-2.0.0/bin, all files have symlinks to /usr/bin and /usr/local/bin

/usr/local/Depen/glib-2.0.0/include, all files have symlinks to /usr/include and /usr/local/include

/usr/local/Depen/glib-2.0.0/lib, all files have symlinks to /usr/lib and /usr/local/lib

In both cases, /usr and /usr/local, the configure script of arts not detect glib-2.0.0

Hi,
Hmm... In my system glib is installed under /usr, so there is this kind of directory structure:

/usr/bin/glib-config
/usr/bin/glib-genmarshal

/usr/include/glib-2.0/gobject/gvaluecollector.h

/usr/lib/glib-2.0
/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include
/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include/glibconfig.h

Have you tried to make directory /usr/include/glib-2.0 and then make a link from /usr/local/Depen/glib-2.0.0/include to /usr/include/glib-2.0? Same with lib, link /usr/local/Depen/glib-2.0.0/lib --> /usr/lib/glib-2.0.
Hope this helps.

Yes, I tried it. Not run.

Problem resolved :)

The configure script was detected an incorrect version of pkgconfig.

I resolved the problem with:

export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/lib/pkgconfig

Thanks for all :)
