XFree86 4.3.0 + QT 3.2.x - inconsistency known?

Hello folks,

I keep on trying to find out where my problem is:
If I use XFree 4.3.0 combined with QT 3.1.x I have nice latin-9 fonts (which I do need) but fixed width fonts don't work. It is like as if there are whitespaces between the letters and every fixed width font looks the same...this is not nice.

If I use X 4.3.0 combined with QT 3.2.x the fixed width fonts are working again but I don't have any latin-9 charsets (though locales are set correctly).

Are there any incosistency between the named QT versions and X 4.3.0 known? Does anyone maybe have a solution for my problem? - All I want is that latin-9 plus fixed width fonts are working...at the moment I can only decide between cholera or pest :o(
