Im haveing problems reinstalling KDE

Im running Gentoo linux. I had KDE working, but something went REALLY wrong. My login suddenly aquired a bunch of users for alot of diffrent applications. and when i loged in everything was forced to the upper left corner and i couldent move it. I had no Kbar and only a single xterm consle and thats it. I completely uninstalled KDE. but i cant emerge it now becasue it keeps erroring out.
"
checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!

!!! ERROR: kde-base/kdeedu-3.1.4 failed.
!!! Function kde_src_compile, Line 117, Exitcode 1
!!! died running ./configure, kde_src_compile:configure
"

Any help would be great, although i like Window Maker I love KDE ever so much more.

Since you have at least WM working, go to www.kde.org then wind your way to Developement Source Code and use CVSup to download KDE CVS. I know it's CVS and that's a pain in the ass, but 3.2 final will be out any day now so it would only be temporary. I've had this problem in the past and it worked out for me.
