konsole settings will not stay

konsole settings will not stay

Hello,

I am running RH 7.3 with the standard KDE desktop. Have been for a number of years.
Recently I reorganized the menus useing the menu editor.

One of the problems I seemed to cause myself is that I can't get the schema to stay put
on konsole. I can change the font, save the settings, and the font stays put for the next time I start Konsole. If I set the schema and save it, konsolerc file acces time changes to the current time and the schema is saved in the konsolerc file. But, the schema instructions are not followed.

I have tried deleteing konsolerc and resaving the settings. No help.

This is not a huge problem, I'm just curious as to why this is happening.

If someone knows the cause of this or can give me some diagnostic instructions, I would
appreciate it.

Which version of KDE?

You write that the access time has changed but that does not mean that it was modified.

I would check if the directory or file is read-only. (However, if you removed the konsolerc, it should be something else.)

KDE version is 3.0.0-10.

I am running as root so there should not be any restrictionsn as far as permissions are concerned.
