Wide characters in konsole

I have installed kde 3.1.2 after Linux From Scratch (and a certain amount of `interesting times'). When I open konsole with the standard fonts the characters are wrongly spaced. There appears to be a space character between each character. Custom fonts like Courier 10 work well, but the built-in fonts look better if it weren't for the spacing. What have I done wrong?

Keith Harwood.

try changing the sizes of the fonts - or the font u use. a standard monospace font should be fine. Then click on "save settings"
