script to open apps and adjust size of windows

When I start my work session (with KDE desktop in RH linux 7.1) I would like to run a short script that would prepare the desktop for the usual applications. The script would (a) open Konqueror with a tall thin window (a specific size); (b) open Kedit in a small window (tall and thin, with a size I can specify with the script) on the right side of the screen , and (b) open a second instance of Kedit in a small window on the left side of the screen.

I can readily adjust the sizes of the various windows manually, but I do not know how to do this automatically with a script.

If this is the way you want your session started, then prepare it that way and then save it.

In Control Center->KDE components->Session managment choose "start user saved session" as the startup option to activate the "Save" entry in the K menu.
