Hello,

I don't use Redfart...err...I mean Redhat, but have you changed the permission rights to those plugins? Or another alternative is to install the plugins into Mozilla, Konqueror will automatically make use of those plugins.

Installing the plugins in Mozilla is quite easy. It just entails downloading some files and copying it to Mozilla's plugin directory. Afterwhich, Konqueror will automatically use all the plugins, shockwave, mplayer, java, pdf, flash, e.t.c. Unfortunately, my internet connection is acting weird so I can't provide a link to the Mozilla plugin website. It's not hard to find, do a google or visit the www.mozilla.org for more info on that.

Hope that helps

notun does not need mpg123 for backplaying m3 files.
However, on RedHat all mp3-paying capabilities are removed from the distribution.

Konueror does not need a java plugin for using java, it needs a java jre.
Make sure that konqueror can find the java binary that is installed on your system (see configuration dialog of konqueror for more information)

If you put a netscape plugin in one of the directories Konqueror is searching in, Konqueror should find this plugin and use it.
Are you sure Konqeuror searches in the right directories? Do you have read permissions to that directory?

but

sure I've try this way first (from mozdev for example)and the plugins are in the "mozilla directory" and work fine with mozilla but except for flashplayer, they don't (java, realplayer) with konqueror- and despite they are present when I scan the new plugins in konqueror.

new result

happy now cause the java applets trough konqueror works at least <----

still trying to find solutions to realplay plugin (rpnp.so which refuse to start)

an other issue important to me---> I really don't see any way to activate mp3 in NOATUN (cause of my redhat sure, but I get the necessary 'mp3' rpms for xmms-ok for this, but not for noatun )-

if you can guide me to this issue thanks-

On my system the real audio player plugin is configured in kcontrol->kde components->file associations.
The mime type audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin in that list uses the netscape plugin viewer as default embedding.

You could try to download the source code of noatun, and compile it your self.
Because of licening issues mp3 is not available in redhat. In xmms, mp3 support is a plugin, so this is easily solved.
But afaik in noatun mp3 support is build in, so RH probably removed the code in their version of noatun.
