How to upgrade mandrake 9.0 to KDE 3.1.1a

Hi! recently i installed mandrake 9.1 and runned kde 3.1. it looked very good, and worked well.. but then some drivers only worked under mandrake 9.0 zo i reinstalled, with mandrake 9.0 which has only KDE 3.0... which looks less cool then 3.1 and is less effective.

So i surfed over to www.kde.org, went to download (stable) to download kde 3.1, bu theres no version available for mandrake? Only redhat etc. Is there no version for mandrake? mandrake is one of the more populair distro's... dont understand that.

A friend told me to compile my own version, but i am linux n00b...(still learning)...

Aren't there any mandrake 9.0 KDE 3.1.1a versions available at all?
