How to fix "This file or directory does not exist"

On my desktop, I see an icon with strange name. When I re-move it, I get "this file or directory does not exist". Even login as root, I still can't re-move it, can't change its name. How can I fix this problem. I just want to delete it.

Is it also in your ~/Desktop directory? :-)

Yes it is always in KDE desktop. I fixed the problem by copying every personel things to some place, then deleting the user, re-creating it, putting everything back.

This typically happens when you have strange characters in the file/directory name. Try to delete the file/directory from thw CL using the \ sign before the strange characters.
Ofcorse I use windows, how else would I get fresh air into the room?
