Auto window resizing

Under Red Hat 7.3 and 8.0 I used a very nice TTF font for x3270 that I grabbed off of a Windoze box. And all was good, the font was/is far superior to the default x3270 fonts. The only flaw was the window dropped off the bottom of the screen, which is perfectly acceptable for the nice font. But, now that I upgraded to RH9, when I open the window KDE is automagically forcing the window to fit the screen. Sending me back to the lame default font size. Granted this auto re-sizing is a nice feature, I really would like to disable it. I have scoured the rc files but haven't found anything yet. Please advise.

Thank You.
