How to make everyone use 3.1 after Konstructor install?

Well, all in the subject line.

I did the install, with the everything build, and took some stuff out of the makefiles because they complained. Its working fine in general. Its build under the root home though and I have to set 4 env variables and then do a 'startkde'. Do I copy it elsewhere and set these envs for other users? In what kind of xxxxxrc or xxxxprofile (whatever) must I put this though for it to work with an XDMCP session?

Thanks!

Hi,

I don't know if it helps but what I did was the following:

After compiling the entire KDE3.1

mv /opt/kde /opt/kde.orig
ln -s /opt/kde /root/kde3.1
chmod 755 /root/kde3.1
cp -R /opt/kde.orig/share/icons/ /opt/kde/share/icons/
cp -R /opt/kde.orig/share/wallpapper/ /opt/kde/share/wallpapper

I use Suse Linux and I wanted to have some of the custom Icons and wallpaper.

All users are now using the new kde3.1 as their default desktop. Excellent Desktop if I may say so myself.

Regards,

Ricardo

I just did the Konstruct upgrade of KDE 3.1 Did all the export commands suggested in the read me file. NOw, how do i get access to it? I am running Mandrake 9.0. Had no problems with Konstruct that I know of. When finished, in console, I typed "startkde" and it went to 3.0.
THanks for the help
