truly transparent panel/taskbar/etc

Hi all,

i played around with the transparency settings of the panel (kicker) and got kinda disappointed :( *sniff*

Is there any way to make the panel truly transparent ? What i mean by that is i would like to hide my "fully" transparent panels, so that when i go to the edge of the screen, only the icons/tasks/other objects on the panel appear.

Basically make the panels transparent based on the window that they get on top of, and not the desktop. I think OS X has this functionality.

I hope i expressed myself in an understandable manner :)

Kde is not mac, and i dont truly understand what you mean. and mac has dreadful font rendering btw

If you want the panel invisible then install a plasma theme called bare naked from kde-look then if you just want the panel transparent but not the rest of thr theme go to

system-settings, and click on the Advanced tab where you will find desktop theme customise, in there you can change any part of a theme with any other theme that you have installed
