KMail 1.11.0 column widths

Is there anyway in KMail 1.11.0 to have the column headers displayed in the pane which shows the list of messages? I'm using the flat date view with the classic theme, which shows the subject, sender and date. However, there are no headers to these columns, which is normally how one adjusts the width of the columns. I have a wide screen monitor, but half of the subject line is being cutoff and the entire right half of the pane is empty because I can find no way to adjust the width of the columns. Thanks for any assistance.
