KDE 4 Menu customization

Hi folks,

So I am a noob when it comes to KDE 4 and I apologize for my ignorance ahead of time. I have installed a bunch of apps under Kubuntu 8.04 and they have not been added to the kickoff menu. I have been looking around for a decend document or howto guide on how to add a custom menu element for each app that I have installed. But so far I have not found anything comprehensive out there. I googled for it, I tried KMenuEdit (which seems more appropriate for KDE 3.x not 4), looked through the KDE docs (rather thin on customization) and so far I have not found anything that was clear, consise, and most of all accurate. Can some kind soul please provide me (and other readers of this forum) with a step by step instruction on how to create a menu entry for any app under KDE 4? Thank you so much for your help.

Regards,
Mitch

Just log out and log in again to refresh the menu or reboot if it does not help.
