older computor and kde

I have a 133MHZ cpu and 32 megs of memory. I loaded slackware 8.1 wich comes with kde 3.0 it runs but really stressess my computor before I remove kde . How for back would I have to go to get a version that would work with my resources.

For instance would 2.0 work better for me. I am going to check later and see if I can upgrade my memory but for now I want to load an older version. :S :S
