Turn off week numbers on calendar

I have begun using Kontact and like it very much. However one of my computers has a small monitor and when viewing the calendar with the months displayed in the left panel, I note that there are week numbers on the left side of each month's calendar.

That occupies precious screen real estate and I have been looking for a way to turn off the week number display but with no success so far. I have installed Kcontrol but cannot find anything in there.

Is it possible to turn off the week number display and, if so, please tell me how.
