new to KDE4 questions

Hi all,

Just installed KDE4.1 (on top of kubuntu) and have a few questions:

1. How do i edit the right click menu? I used to use Fedora w/ KDE and I loved being able to right click and have the first item being konsole. How can I do this?

2. I would like to be able to change the icon of shell script and am unsure how to do this. I just dragged the firefox 3 icon to a panel and the icon is for that of a shell script. I want to change the icon from that to the provided firefox icons. I tried right clicking and selecting 'icon settings' but this did not offer a way to change the icon image. Possibly there is some [Desktop Entry] some where that i need to edit? If so, where should I look? If not how do I go about doing this?

I know that there is a guide and an FAQ, but it would be really neat if some one (who speaks English) could create a decent screen cast with audio explaining features. I've seen a couple on youtube videos, none of the with audio, and all of them such poor quality that I can't really see what they are changing. I'd do it myself, but I'm pretty lost right now with basic stuff ( can't even change an icon image =0) ).

Thanks,

S

when you go to icon settings, click on the icon itself, does it bring up a 'select icon' dialog box?

Thanks for the reply!

No. I did figure out a workaround. I added the firefox application to the menu (i think its called the 'kickstart menu'?), from there I was able to choose the appropriate icon. Once the firefox menu option was created I was able to drag that menu item to the panel and have it act correctly. Oddly if I attempt to change the firefox icon from the pannel I am able to change the icon. It still does not work to drag the executable shell file to the panel and attempt to change it's icon.

To my other question:
Does ANY one know how I can change that right click menu?

Just found this article. Haven't read it myself yet, but check it out.
