latam keyboard do not do some keys (kde 4.1)

Hi!

I have a dell vostro notebook, it uses a latinamerican keyboard (the at symbol in the Q letter) and it works ok outside kde...
Inside kde I can not do some keys, mainly related with altgr and shift combinations
I have tried configuring the layout in the regional preferences, and tested all the generic and dell keyboard models and nothing... I can not use that keys...
to send an email I have to find an AT symbol and copy/paste it :(

my distro is arch linux, runing kdemod 4.1

Any idea? what to do?
