Contrast buttons do not work (and some special keys)

Hello,

I am totally new to KDE and just installed KDE4.1 on Ubuntu. I've tried to get help at the Ubuntu forum, but no luck.

My primary problem is that I cannot adjust my monitor contrast. Normally I press Fn and Up or Down to adjust contrast on my Dell. It works in Gnome but not in KDE.

Additionally my volume buttons do not work, although my Next/Previous Track Multimedia buttons do work.

And help appreciated.

Hi Phil,

I don't know anything about Gnome, so I can't tell you what the differences are in how Gnome supports a keyboard and how KDE does it.

You may wish to keep this page as a last resort. It's a page where I describe how I got my keyboard supported in KDE.

There may be easier solutions, though...

Cheers,
Rob
