Traceroute with Marble?

I'm not sure where is the best place to ask this so I'll just ask it here. This is more of a feature request for a new KDE program. From what I read from the Marble website http://edu.kde.org/marble/ Marble can be used by other KDE programs.

Back in the day I used this cool program called Xtraceroute http://www.dtek.chalmers.se/~d3august/xt/ which put traceroute on a map. I thought it was pretty cool and fun to use. Because of the potential uses I see in Marble I was wondering if it's conceivable for someone with the skill to put together a KDE app that acts as GUI front end for network tools like ping, traceroute, etc and use Marble to put that information on a map. What I would like is a open source, KDE alternative to VisualRoute http://www.visualroute.com.

I'm sure I'm not the only one in the KDE community who would like to have a handy, fun tool like that in KDE.
