CTRL + middle click & others...

Hi all!

Many thanks for KDE developers! I have never enjoy any display manager as much as KDE4! You're doing great!

Well, there is something I use a lot: CTRL + click to move the window, CTRL + right click to resize it.

In my opinion having CTRL + middle click to resize a box inside a window would be awesome. For instance, you open Dolphin, you have the tree on the left, the files on the middle, and you often have to resize the tree part and its boring to do it with normal click. Do I make any sense to you?

Another questions:
- On some of my machines, I can't use sftp nor ark in dolphin (whereas I can on the old konqueror) how can I check this kioslave story?
- How can I configure dolphin so as F4 open a real terminal and not an embedded one?
- How can I configure konqueror so as CTRL + roll (how do you call that little thing in english??) change the size of the font (exaclty as the buttons of the HTML bar do) instead of that awfull zoom?

Many thanks,
Martin.

Hello,

actually resizing inside a window seems not to be possible. But there may be a workaround. You can press the little sign left from the closing button of the tree part. This way the tree part floats above dolphin, always visible. Now it is a fake own window and you can resize it your way. It also gets restored this way when you close Dolphin.
Same goes for the terminal, but i don't think that's what you want. Don't know about that, sry.
I also don't know how to change the zooming capabilities.
Regarding the ioslaves, a quick "locate kio_" tells me, that there seems to be no ioslave for ark at the moment, but sftp is installed. Maybe it's work in progress.

Do you know why?

Yeah. I don't like that. And on my laptop it creates a lot of problem: the small window is here, but you don't see it, so everything is fucked.

Yeah. This is usefull sometimes but not most of the time. There should be an option to open an embedded terminal AND an option to open a normal terminal. Do you know where I can contact developers?

And do you know how I can check that dolphin takes the good kio_slaves? It works on dolphin 3 but not on dolphin 4...

Thanks again,
Martin.

No, sry, i guess the keyboard shortcuts you mentioned where only designed for the toplevel windows.

Best way you can do that is open a wishlist item on bugs.kde.org. But be sure to check if there isn' already one that fits your needs. So your wish won't be forgotten.

The problem is that you can't use the old ioslaves in kde4. you certainly can use dolphin from kde3 inside kde4. that's the way i do it with apps, that aren't currently ported.
