Moving data in Konqueror madness

What's with Konqueror when you ask it to move files and folders and select skip on duplicate Folders? It still ends up deleting the originals. Not realizing this as its not the normal habit of any file utility I've ever come across I selected "skip" on a folder and inadvertently lost a large quantity of files including family pictures, school programming projects, music and video all adding up to over 20GB that was not present in the similar named folder. Music and video is one thing but pictures and many hours spent on school projects lost is very infuriating.

Crashing programs, always resetting custom file application associations,... I can't say impressed with KDE's performance thus far.
