Problem: Directory links on desktop don't work

My desktop contains links to other directories. When I click one of those links, they do not open in Konqueror, but I get the message:

Quoted

'You do not have access rights to this location'

And, yes, the directory that the link points to is correctly owned by the currently logged on user. And I may set the attributes to 777 - that does not help.
What is the problem? What to do?
