tabbed windows - the ultimate thread

so here it is. Everyone wants them where are they? Is there a good reason for not including them? Really this is a serious question. Is there a good reason?

I like Compiz group and Tab but think that it is worth considering how to combine the best aspects of this approach with the traditional tabs as seen in Fluxbox.

Another window-management related feature I would like to see is a key shortcut to raise the active window.
