changing lilo

Good Evening,
It seems this is an endless journey.
Situation: I have windows xp on my hard drive. I had a dual boot
(Sabayon & Win xp).Windows was first, then Sabayon. I removed Sabayon,
by deleting its partion.(using Parted Magic). Evidently The MBR.went
with it. I attempted to use Knoppix 5.0 ,configuring the 'Lilo.conf
file, but I know better not to change a system file without guidance.
Looking at Parted Magic again, Windows is still there as 'SDA1'.
From the articles I've been reading ,I think I can adjust the Lilo
file to resolve this problem.I can't boot into Windows xp.
Once again your guidance would be appreciated..Thank You
Rich

RE: changing lilo

This is a forum for discussion of installation and configuration of KDE, something that your post is in no way related to. You may find you get a better response posting your problem in a forum that is not dedicated to the discussion of something completely unrelated to your problem. The Savayon forums would seem a logical place, or any generic Linux discussion forum. Most Linux distros use Grub these days though.
I don't mean to sound rude, but if you want answers to your questions it's often beneficial to ask them in a relevant place.

RE: changing lilo

I thought I could use Knoppix to help change the boot record.Evidently not.
Thanks for the direction...Rich
