FireFox & Kmail Composer

openSuSe 10.3
KDE 3.5.9 / 51.2
Konqueror 3.5.9,
Kontact Container 1.2.9
Kmail 1.9.9
FireFox 2.0.0.12

Clicking a "mailto: link" as well as clicking "send page" or "send link" under "File" will open/activate the Kmail Composer

Unfortantuly I use FireFox and unable to find a way to cause the Kmail Composer to behave with FireFox as it does with Konqueror .

How can I cause the Composer to open/activate in FIreFox as it does in Konqueror?

Thank you
Ken

RE: FireFox & Kmail Composer

In file ~/.mozilla/firefox/<casual_string>/user.js

add:

user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.mailto","/path/to/kmail");

You may need to create user.js file.

Not tested.

Thank You

AH HA
Most Excellent!!
I did not have a user.js, I did have a prefs.js, file that I opened and found this link http://www.mozilla.org/unix/customizing.html#prefs which added to the information you provided.

I created a user.js and inserted the information you provided, user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.mailto","/opt/tkde3/bin/kmail"); saved the file, closed and opened FireFox and OH YA the mailto; links in FireFox now open my Kmail program

Thank you
Ken
