TV Overscan Compensation Possible?

Can kwin compensate for overscan? I can't find the term overscan anywhere in any posts or documentation (kwin doesn't have much doc that I can find). I would like to set the --geometry option (if it pays any attention). I am using it kdm - kdm-greet - kwin - kdesktop. I found the line:

kwrapper ksmserver $KDEWM

in startkde (I am at level 3.5).

I have tried adding the following to kdmrc:

KDEWM=/usr/kde/3.5/bin/kwin --geometry 1152x648+64+36

This did not add the --geometry option to kwm.
