Windows/KDE Metworking

Hi

I am new to Linux. I have installed Fedora 8 and Gnome and KDE desktops. The Fedora PC is plugged into my home network which has a couple of windows XP PCs on it and it all goes through the router and modem to the web etc

KDE and Gnome both work well with internet and email access and they can print to my printer which is plugged into a Windows PC. So all network and samba are working well.

My problem, being new to KDE, is the windows networking part. In Gnome I can click on "computer" and I get a window with the hard drive, CD rom etc and also Windows Network shows up. When I click on that I can see all the Windows PCs and can retrieve and store files from/to them.

WHERE is "computer" in KDE?? I have searched high and low and can't find any way to view the windows network. I have switched on lisa and network manager but nothing appears. Should Network Manager do anything other than put an icon on the tray saying I am connected to the network?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have not managed to "see" the Fedora box from my Windows PCs, probably some firewall setting and I guess this isn't essential.

I could work in Gnome but I really prefer the KDE look and feel.. 8)
Cheers from Rainy Queensland

Start Konqueror and enter

Source code

1
system:/
in the address bar. Icons for special locations will appear, including network. You can also enter

remote:/
in the address bar.
