Window position

Hey,
I'm a new user, and I want my windows to remember their position/size. For example, if I maximize a web browser, and I close the same web browser with the window maximized, when I execute it again I want it to be maximized.
I know there's an option that starts all windows maximized, but that option doesn't suit me, because I like some windows small(like the konsole, for example).
