Kpilot: Palm TX restarts when sync - new memo PC to Palm

Running:
KPilot 4.9.0 (depth 9)
Pilot-link 0.12.1
KDE 3.5.5

Palm T|X

Issue:

When performing a sync between the Palm and PC, the Palm will crash/restart if there are new memos on the PC to be transferred to the palm. New memos on the Palm to the PC works fine. Other conduits (calendar, addressbook) work fine in either direction. Just the memos.

After the Palm resets, I have to manually kill Kpilot and kpilotdaemon, then restart them. The next sync works as if the previous one completed successfully (kpilot does not indicate there are new memos on the PC for the palm, but the new memos are never transferred to the palm).

Any ideas? Could this be a file permission problem? A known bug in Kpilot? Copying the file manually using the install-memo app (from the pilot-link package) appears to work fine. I found a similar bug on the buglist (Bug 139353: Syncing memo files restarts Treo 680) but this hasn't been touched in over a year so I'm not sure if it is confirmed, understood, or even actively being looked into.

*Any* help is appreciated, even if it is a note stating that the developers are aware that a bug exists but uninterested in pursuing this one at this time. I just want to make sure there isn't something obscure that I'm missing, or if there is another method/application out that works better (for syncing to KDE PIM apps).

Many thanks!
