Kicker/Start Menu Suggestions

One idea I had for KDE's Kicker icon was to make it single and double click aware.

The single click menu, or the Kwick Kicker Menu, would be a menu that could hold either the most recently used applications, most frequently used applications, or application links that have been pinned to that menu. There should also be a filter button on the menu that cycles between the three types when the menu is open

The double click menu would resemble the current menu system and would contain the complete kicker menu. From here you can right click on a menu entry and pin it to the Kwick Kicker Menu.

Another idea for the menu is to have the choice to display an icon only based kicker menu where it is only icons displayed in rows and columns instead of text based links sorted in sub menus. The icon field should be resizable on the fly and the icons should be freely positionable anywhere on the field and those positions should be remembered for the next session.
