kstartupconfig

I've been using KDE with PCLinuxOS2007 for sometime. It's worked well until yesterday. I tried to produce a 'remasterme' iso image using Xterm and this seemed to work. However when I now boot from my HDD I cannot access my User Account and have a small window showing the error message 'kstartupconfig is missing'. I can still access the Root Account normally. Can I reinstall/restore the missing 'kstartupconfig' for my User Account?

Incidentally the remasterme origin iso failed to produce a bootable DVD.

Any help greatly appreciated.
