X forwarding font issue?

I opened an ssh connection last night, and opened nedit.

The menu bar does not display properly, it shows all SQUARES or BOXES. The program itself works fine. I can even use the menu bar if I know where to click.

I open nedit locally and it works fine. The menu is there and everything

Is this some sort of font issue with X forwarding or what?

RE: X forwarding font issue?

After doing a little research, I believe this may be a unicode error.

http://www.umiacs.umd.edu/~aelkiss/xml/displaylinux.html

gives some insight into how to get it set up.

I'm going to try this tonight and see where it gets me.

Anyone agree that this might help?

Nope.

I reinstalled the language pack, reisntalled and reconfigured locales, etc. No dice.

The menu still shows locally, but when I ssh into another machine, I get no menu bar on my apps.
