kmenu icon

i run freespire 2.0, and the guys at freespire changed the kmenu icon from the previous cool looking rectangle type icon (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Fre…u?content=49618)
to a new kde standard square icon. i'd like to change it back. someone on the freespire forums told me that i have to apply a specific patch, and posted a text file with the patch:

but noone there seems to be able to instruct me in how to do that. so my question is: how do i apply the patch?
